Altered Hot Pink and Zebra Striped Coat Rack...

I found this stuff at Walmart awhile back:

So I bought this:

I painted it hot pink with a sugar coat of glitter, added the zebra Peel and Stick, blinged it up with some rhinestones and ta-da!!!

It's perfect for my daughter's room!!!  I still have a TON of the peel and stick left, so I will be using it on many more projects to come :)

Storage Box Stool Updo...

Kadee needed something to go with her zebra and pink mirror.  I found a plain black one at Walmart:

I added a few leftover scraps from other projects that I have done for her room and now she has this:

And now it fits in perfectly!

Zebra Striped Altered Mirror...

I was thrilled when my daughter told me that her wall mirror broke into a million pieces!  I searched high and low for the perfect replacement and I finally found an old brown beat up 1970ish mirror.  It was perfect!  Of course, I had to paint it pink, and add some zebra stripes!

This is what it looked like when I finished with it:

I wasn't done just yet.  I pulled out my beloved Silhouette and added this:

Now I've got to mount it on the wall.  I hope she loves it :)

Duct Tape Zebra Frame....

I've been going through crafting withdrawals!  Busy life has been getting in the way of my obsession, BOO to that!!!  Last night was the first evening that I had a few minutes so I ran into my craft room and grabbed a few items that I had on hand.

I found this dollar store frame.  We don't own a cat, we don't even really like cats at our house, but I knew that the frame would come in handy when I saw it in the store:

Then I grabbed the roll of hot pink and zebra striped duct tape that I have from some other projects, some chip board letters and an old piece of black plastic.  Here is what I came up with for my cute Kadee gal's room:

It looks so much better than that silly fish bone cat frame!  I added some black sparkly chipboard embellishments to two of the corners.  I cut the black plastic to fit the back of the frame and glued on my sparkly "I" and "U", then I covered the heart circle with some more duct tape and Ta-Da!  I was done in less than 20 minutes!

And the best part is that I was able to somewhat satisfy my craft withdrawals!!!

Zebra Striped Mini Hutch....

Although my cute daughter is living in Florida, I'm still working on adding to her bedroom decor (hot pink and zebra stripes).  Last summer, I found this:
I've thought and thought about what I wanted to do with it and where I wanted to put it.  I decided that it needed to be hot pink with zebra stripes.  Here's what I came up with:

The inside:
The door:
 The top:

It looks super cute with her other deco's:

I can't wait until she gets home and can see it!

Zebra Chair Redo....

My daughter needed a chair for the desk we refurnished for her and I had a very specific look in mind. Hubs and I spent an entire afternoon shopping until we found this baby.  It was cute, but I not the right color:

It took a lot of sanding:

Added some zebra stripes (of course!)

It looks so cute with her desk:

DIY Clock from Charger Plate....

Hubs and I were wandering Hobby Lobby looking for inspiration on zebra decor for our daughters room redo.  We found the cutest zebra striped charger plate and knew we had to do something with it.  We decided it would make an awesome clock, so we bought a clock mechanism from there as well.
We drilled a hold in the center of the charger and then taped the backing from an old clock to it temporarily so that we could make sure that we go the #'s to match up with the hands accurately.  I cut the #'s out in hot pink vinyl using my cricut.  We placed a rhinestone on each 5 minute mark.  Then I added some feathers and hot pink rick rack as embellishments.

DIY Photo Canvas's...

We took some super cute pictures of our daughter and I wanted to incorporate a few of them in with her zebra room decor. I decided to put them on canvas.

I painted the outside edges of the canvas a hot pink, then mod podged pink and white zebra striped paper to the outside edge on all four edges.

I mod podged the pix onto the canvas and then sanded and inked around the edges.

Then I glued the feathers around each canvas and added rhinestones and some bling to each one.

Super easy and they look really cute on her wall!

I'm nowhere near finished with this theme, so stay posted because there will be much more to come!

Desk Redo with Zebra Stripes of Course....

Hubs and I found this desk and instantly saw the potential:

I was up to my knees in saw dust prepping this beauty!

After sanding I knew this was going to turn out great.

We painted it black to match our daughters other furniture and then I tied in her zebra and hot pink theme using the patterned duct tape.

We had some glass cut and put pix of our daughter and her favorite people underneath just to personalize it a little bit.

It's perfect for her to work on her Macbook and do her homework!  And, it looks great in her little "apartment".

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE old furniture and being able to give old pieces new life.  It makes me so happy to walk past them in my house and know that I had something to do with restoring it!

Altered Zebra Lamp Shade.....

I've posted before about being knee deep in zebra stripes for my daughters room redo. As one of her Christmas gifts, I made her a darling zebra striped, feathered and jeweled lamp shade. It was super easy!
The supplies:
*Zebra striped lampshade (I found this one at Walmart)

* hot pink feather boa

*some hot pink jewel strands

*some silver beads

I glued the feathers around the top and bottom of the lamp shade and then divided the jewels and beads onto about 7 smaller strands (I used clear thread to strand them on).  I placed a small silver bead in between each hot pink one and then used a needle to attach the strands to the lamp shade.

The finished product:

It looks so stinking cute on the desk that we made for her (post on that coming soon)!

DIY King sized Zebra Headboard...

Hubs and I made this zebra striped headboard for our daughter's king sized bed. We had never made one before so it was quite the adventure!  We found some fantastic thick, furry zebra material 50% off at JoAnns.  We glued batting to a huge piece of plywood and then stretch and stapled the material nice and tight:

We painted decorative molding and corner coins black to trim it with:

We mounted it to the wall with brackets:

She loves it and we are totally thrilled with how it turned out.  There are so many zebra stripes going on in her room that it kinda makes you dizzy!

Every thing in her room now goes together so nicely.  I can't wait to post before and after of her desk and chair redo that we also did.  As for the headboard, we are already planning on making another one :)

Altered Frames....

Altered frames make terrific gifts, they can be customized to match anyone's color theme. One I recently made:
Base paint the frame first.  I mod podged zebra striped wrapping paper on the front and scuffed it up with some sand paper.

Add some bling/embellishments wherever you want.

A few others that I have done in the past.  The picture quality on these is awful because I took them with my cell phone, but you get the jist:

And remember, frames don't just have to be for pictures!:

Altered Wood Dance Letters....

As I mentioned before, we are redecorating my daughters living space. She is a dancer, she loves to dance and is very good at it. I decorated this wood "Dance" shelf for her last room"

Because dancing is still such a huge part of her life, I couldn't bring myself to get rid of it, so I re-altered it to fit the new theme:

I love the hot pink feathers with the black and white stripes.  So much fun!
