Easter Tissue Paper Topiary"s...

I'm still cranking out the Easter crafty's. I've got to get my daughter's package mailed by tomorrow so that she will get it by the first of Easter and I need to have my hutch decorated by this weekend. NO PRESSURE! Here are the topiary's I came up with. One is for my table centerpiece and the other is for my daughter's:
I used tissue paper for the balls of the topiary"s
.Pastels aren't normally my thing, but I always make an exception for them over the month of April!
I found all of the supplies: pails, ribbons, tissue paper, Styrofoam balls and skewers at the dollar store!

Burlap Easter Egg Tile...

I'm getting excited for Easter!  I'm also excited to get my hutch decorated for the holiday, but haven't had much time to craft.  I work a full time job in  a busy medical clinic so I'm kind of a weekend warrior with my crafting and lately my work has taken up my weekends as well (frowny face here!)  Anyhoodle, I was able to whip this tile out:

I love burlap, even though it's stinky, it just makes everything cute!
I have a ton more projects on my to-do list for Easter/Spring and have got to get my cute daughter's Easter deco's done so that I can ship them to her in Orlando.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a super productive day!

Decorated Canvas Storage Bins...

The boy of the house just turned 12, so he is growing out of the little boy stuff and into the big boy toys.  For his birthday, we got him a 32" flat screen tv and refinished an entertainment center for his room.  He also has his XBox and PS3 in there and they come with all kinds of games and accessories that need a place to go.  I decided to buy some canvas storage bins.

His furniture is all black, so I bought the ivory ones to offset it, but they were really plain, so I dug through my craft supplies and here is what I came up with:

I really struggle with my son's decor because I tend to bling everything up and boys just aren't into that kind of thing, so I really tried to keep this simple and appropriate for a "tween".

I really like the way they turned out.  They give the bins a little something, but definitely not too much, and all of his gaming "junk" is nicely organized, which makes me happy!

Repurposed Fence Wood Shelf...

My hubs is amazing.  He made me this from some old fence wood:

I love old wood and our bedroom colors are in natural tones, so I thought it would be a good fit.

He even added some old nails for hooks:

I've already requested a second one!

Zebra Striped Mini Hutch....

Although my cute daughter is living in Florida, I'm still working on adding to her bedroom decor (hot pink and zebra stripes).  Last summer, I found this:
I've thought and thought about what I wanted to do with it and where I wanted to put it.  I decided that it needed to be hot pink with zebra stripes.  Here's what I came up with:

The inside:
The door:
 The top:

It looks super cute with her other deco's:

I can't wait until she gets home and can see it!

Yarn Wrapped Letter...

I made this "B" to go in our master bedroom:

I just wrapped yarn around all parts of a cardboard B, and then I made the rosette with scraps of material, lace and a button.  Super easy and cute!

Hutch Redo...

I have gotten a lot of questions about my hutch.  It dawned on me that I posted about it on my personal blog before I went private with it.  I figured that I would re-post the story on this blog, which seems more appropriate anyways :)

The story:
When hubs asked me what I wanted for Mother's Day last year, I told him that I wanted to find an old hutch to refinish.  He looked at me like I was crazy and said, "you want me to buy you something used and something that you have to work on for Mother's Day?"  I said, "Yes!"  He said, "Wouldn't you rather just buy one that is already done from a furniture store?"  I said, "NO!"  So we went shopping.  We hit every antique, thrift and consignment store around.  Finally, in the very back corner in the clearance section of a consignment store, I found this beauty:

I told Hubs, "This is it.  I have to have it".  He said, "It has no glass".  I said, "I don't want glass, it's perfect".  So he asked the owner how much she wanted for it, she gave a price that I was more than willing to pay, but Hubs said, "It has no glass, I'm going to have to buy glass for it", as he is elbowing me to keep my mouth shut about the fact that I didn't want glass...  Anyways, she then accepted an offer that seemed ridiculously low to me and we took this baby home!  Thank heaven for Hubs bargaining skills, they have save me lots of money!!!

After prepping it, we painted it bone white:

Then we distressed the heck out of it and put a walnut stain over it:

Next up, we put chicken coop wire where the glass should be.  This is where Hubs really thought I was insane.  Oh ye of little faith!

A side view:

Decorated:

That's the story!  It has become one of my most treasured possessions, I just love it!

Frame Redo...

So I found this for a dollar:
I liked the designs on it, but not the gold and brownish red... So I did this with it:

Painted it antique white and then added a couple of coats of pearl white and then a couple of coats of Plaids Extreme Glitter paint in silver.

I got the cute Lucky printable HERE (Thanks! I LOVE free printables!!!)

And it looks super cute in my hutch.  I will easily be able to change out the printable each month and it should look great for most holidays/seasons.

So here is my new March "O":

Clover Bouquets...

Another very easy, very inexpensive St. Patty's Day decoration:

I found the cute sparkly boxes at Dollar Tree and just stuck the felt clover sticker on them and then glued a large rhinestone on top of it.  I put some Styrofoam chunks in the bottom and filled it with green shiny cellophane shred.

I glued the foam clovers to skewers and then added stickers and rhinestones to bling them up a bit.

Then I tied some tulle around each and arranged them in the boxes.

I told you that was easy!!!
