3 Easy & Super Cute St. Patrick's Day Decorations

I can't believe that it's already St. Patrick's Day!  I feel like I didn't get to make all of the cute decorations that I had planned on!  I guess there is always next year right?  Here are a few quick and easy ones that I did make this year:

1- Lucky Sign with Horseshoe "U":

 This was so easy to make.  I used an old board, cut my LCKY stencil out using my Silhouette Cameo, painted it, nailed the horse shoe "U" in with real horse shoe nails and added the hanger:

2- Shamrock and Burlap Door Hanger:

I actually bought the wood for this at the Wood Connections store in SLC a couple of months ago, so it was super easy to just paint, sand, nail together and attach the bow and little shamrocks.

3- Easy Leprechaun Clay Pot Hat:

 This idea has been around for awhile, I just hadn't ever gotten around to making one.  It seriously took 15 minutes.  So easy!

4- Hand stitched Clover Trio:

Anyone that knows me, knows that sewing is not my strong point, nor is it something that I have ever loved to do, so if I can make this anyone can!  I just cut the clovers out of material using a cardboard template and then stitched them to a thick canvas type material with embroidery floss and then framed it.

Lucky Me Scrabble Tile Canvas

St. Patrick's Day is in full swing at my house!  I love decorating with all of the green and the shamrocks, it makes me so happy :)

I was bored the other day, so I looked around my craft room and gathered up a few supplies; a canvas, some material, embroidery thread, burlap, buttons, paint and scrabble tiles.  Here is what I came up with:

 I love using all of the different materials together!

Mini Pallet Lucky Sign

I decided to put another twist on the mini pallet signs using wood shims.  Instead of making a full square, I decided to make a horizontal sign using only 3 shims.  This is what I came up with:

I used wood glue to glue the shims together and then also glued a large Popsicle stick on the back to hold it together.  I created a stencil for the L, C, K and Y using my Silhouette and then cut out the gold U.

 I painted it green and then filled in the letters and sanded everything down and placed the gold U.  I painted and sanded the clover, added the burlap and button and glued it on:

That's it!  So easy!

St. Patrick's Day Hutch

Hello there!  I haven't died, but the last few weeks have been crazy busy and therefore I haven't gotten much crafting done, which always makes me sad.  I did get my Valentines deco's down and put up my St. Patrick's Day ones though.  We went from red and pink everywhere to green everywhere!  Here is my hutch:

I'm hoping to get a few more things made.  I have a scratch pad with several designs but am not sure I will find time before the 17th.  Just not enough time!!!  Have a great day :)

Clover "O" for HOME...

I made this HOME set with 4 different "O's" about a year ago:

Clover Bouquets...

Another very easy, very inexpensive St. Patty's Day decoration:

I found the cute sparkly boxes at Dollar Tree and just stuck the felt clover sticker on them and then glued a large rhinestone on top of it.  I put some Styrofoam chunks in the bottom and filled it with green shiny cellophane shred.

I glued the foam clovers to skewers and then added stickers and rhinestones to bling them up a bit.

Then I tied some tulle around each and arranged them in the boxes.

I told you that was easy!!!

St. Patrick's Day Decorated Candles....

I needed something to go with my St. Patrick's Day topiary for my March dining room table centerpiece. Here is what I came up with:

I found the cute felt clover stickers at JoAnn's crafts, I just stuck them on each candle and was done!

They were so easy, inexpensive and I think they turned out super cute!  I'm getting pretty excited to put up my March decorations this weekend :)

Leprechaun Hat....

My hubby is the best!  I'm always sketching ideas on scraps of paper and handing them to him.  He then takes the sketch and finds a way to cut the wood exactly like I'd envisioned, (although my sketches are more like a preschoolers scribbles than well drawn idea's.)  This weekend, I gave him 3 different designs and he did not disappoint!  Here is my leprechaun's hat:

I base painted it green and then added several coats of Folk Arts extreme glitter paint in Peridot. It glitters this pretty gold-ish sparkly color all over.

I love how it turned out :)

St. Patrick's Day Topiary's....

I made two topiaries yesterday.  One for my table and one to send to my cute girl in Florida.  I used tissue paper to make these ones.  I found the cute buckets at JoAnn's Craft Store.

Irish Block for St. Patrick's Day...

I really need to get my daughter's St. Patrick's Day decor package in the mail so that it can arrive in Florida by March 1st. As with the Valentines deco's that I sent her in February, I am trying to keep them as inexpensive as possible because she will only be there for a few more months and won't have room to bring them home with her when the time comes. I hate the thought of her apartment being holiday decor-less (is that even a word?!) so, regardless of the fact that they will only get used by her once, I still want her to have them. She did say that she knows of a place to donate everything that she can't bring home with her, so hopefully someone will get to enjoy them when she is done. Anyhoodle, (I'm on a non-word roll today!) Here is one of the decorations that I came up with to send her:

St. Patrick's Day Luck Frame...

I'm still going at full speed to make enough St. Patrick's Day deco's to fill my hutch for the month of March. I made this cute, inexpensive frame last night:

I just used one of the dollar frames from Micheal's that I got on their 2 for $1 sale awhile back.  I painted it and then mod podged a scrap piece of St. Patrick's day paper on the frame, sanded and inked the edges. Then I mod podged some scrap gold sparkle paper on the inside of the frame.The clovers and ribbon were from a floral pick that I'd bought a few years back and I had the sparkle letter stickers from a package that I found at dollar tree.

Crafting doesn't have to be expensive! Because I had all of the supplies on hand, it didn't cost me anything but even when I add up the cost of everything, the total would be less than two dollars.  Not to shabby eh?!

Lucky Clover Canvas...

I had an extra canvas lying around and decided something needed to be done with it. Here is what I came up with:

                                            The clover actually has gold  sparkles, I couldn't get a picture that did it justice.

Rustic Clover Plaque...

I'm moving on to St.Patrick's Day crafties!!! I need to get enough to fill up my hutch for the month of March, and I need to make a few to send to my cute daughter in Florida to decorate her cute apartment. I found an old piece of wood in my wood pile and here is what I came up with:

I'm loving the combination of the light and dark greens!  Now I just need to figure out what to make next :)

St. Patricks Day Wreath

I made this felt wreath for St. Patty's Day:

It was very simple, but somewhat time consuming cutting out all of the felt circles.  I found the Irish sign at Michael's and thought it was the perfect final touch:

The same wreath could easily be made for every season/holiday by changing the colors of the felt:
